Atlanta has great public swimming pools, in addition to Swimming Lakes and Beaches Near Atlanta, fun for families and perfect for summer temps. Many of these local swimming pools feature diving boards, water slides, and splash pads for little ones, making them more engaging than typical swim/tennis neighborhood pools. And did you know certain Atlanta hotel pools offer swimtime without requiring an overnight stay?! Several Atlanta hotels offer day passes to enjoy the posh amenities.

Public Swimming Pools in Atlanta & Beyond

1. Piedmont Park Aquatic Center - Midtown 

This staple in Piedmont Park has been a favorite since the original bathhouse was built in 1911. Families enjoy a large pool with beach entry open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Visitors pay $5 per person for access to the swimming pool or show up 3-5pm weekdays in the summer for free swim. 

2. Wills Park Pool - Alpharetta 

Wills Park Pool features two diving boards (including a high dive), water slide, shallow play area with interactive features, and a splash pad. Alpharetta residents pay $5 and non-residents pay $10. The pool is open from Memorial Day until Fulton County schools begin classes; after that date, the pool is open weekends only through Labor Day. Hours vary. 

3. Cherokee County Aquatic Center - Canton 

Families have a blast at this public aquatic center, which is more like a mini waterpark, called the Oasis Outdoor Pool. Visitors can ride two water slides, swim in the lazy river, and play on the water playground. Rates range from $6-$9 depending on residency and age. Hours vary each day and the facility closes for special events so check the website before heading out. 

4. Seven Springs Water Park - Powder Springs 

The Seven Springs Water Park boasts a public outdoor swimming pool with zero-depth entry and a water park with slides, lazy river, and splash pad. The facility is open from Memorial Day through end of July, and then switches to weekends only until Labor Day. Cobb County residents pay $4 per child/$6 per adult (higher entry for non-residents). Visitors choose from two sessions: 12-3pm or 4-7pm. 

5. Ebster Pool - Decatur

Take a dip in Decatur by visiting Ebster Pool, located on Atlanta Avenue and West Trinity Place (behind the police department). Families enjoy the huge pool deck, snack area, and shade shelter. Opening hours vary from May - September so check the Decatur city website for details, as well as resident and non-resident fees. 

6. Roswell Area Park Pool - Roswell 

This Olympic-sized swimming pool, located in Roswell's premier park, has two diving boards, a children's wading area, and a mushroom waterfall. Roswell residents pay $3 for admission while non-residents pay $5. Swimming pool hours vary each day and is closed on Thursdays. 

7. Grant Park Pool - Atlanta 

The Grant Park swimming pool is large, near Zoo Atlanta, and best of all, FREE! Families cool off in this Atlanta public pool Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The pool shifts to evening and weekend hours when school starts in August. 

8. Chastain Park Athletic Club Pool - Buckhead 

You don't have to be a member of the Chastain Park Athletic Club to use its pool. Guests pay $5 per person to cool off in the outdoor swimming pool or the indoor section. Check the website for hours as they change daily, and certain times are just for members.

9. Cumming Aquatic Center - Cumming 

Kids of all ages splash and play at the Cumming Aquatic Center's outdoor leisure pool. The venue has a water slide, lazy river, and water playground. Visitors pay $8 per child and $9 per adult. Check the website for hours as the schedule varies during school times. 

10. Garden Hills Pool - Buckhead 

Families enjoy this large Buckhead swimming pool for $5 per person. Garden Hills offers a long swim season—May through September. The facility blocks off certain times for members, so be sure to check the public open hours on the pool's website. 

11. Candler Park Pool -  Little Five Points 

This intown swimming pool is a great option to cool off this summer, especially because it offers FREE admission. The pool, located in Candler Park, is open Friday-Tuesday during the summer. 

12. Kelley Cofer Pool - Tucker 

This large pool is a nice place to beat the heat during the summer. Bonus? It has a super fun diving board! Guests 17 and under are $3 and those ages 18 and over are $5. Check the Tucker Parks & Recreation website for details about hours.

13. Rosenfeld Pool - Tucker 

Another one of Tucker's nice public pools, Rosenfeld is located in a shaded park and has a fun twisty slide. Like Kelley Cofer, the rates are $3 for kids 17 and under and $5 for 18 and up. Also like Kelley Cofer, check Tucker's city page for hours of operation. 

14. Milton City Pool - Milton 

Families enjoy this Olympic-sized pool, complete with wading pool and mushroom waterfalls for younger kids. The pool costs $5 for Milton residents and $7.50 for non-residents; seasonal passes available for purchase.

15. Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta - Northwest Atlanta

Experience all the fun of The Battery Atlanta with a daycation at the Omni Hotel. Families relax and play in the luxurious pool and enjoy poolside food and beverage service. Day passes start at $75 for adults (free for children).

16. Grand Hyatt Atlanta - Buckhead 

Visitors to the Grand Hyatt Atlanta can purchase a day use room for six hours and enjoy the gorgeous outdoor pool. Grand Hyatt Atlanta's swimming pool is heated (connects to the Japanese Zen garden and waterfall), so visits can be year-round. 

17. Great Wolf Lodge - LaGrange

Enjoy the family-friendly vibes of Great Wolf Lodge without the overnight stay by purchasing a day pass (either full day or half day tickets) to access the indoor water park. There is a locker room to safely store belongings during your visit.

18. Hyatt Regency Atlanta - Downtown 

Book a "Refresh Room" from 10am-4pm and enjoy the Hyatt Regency Atlanta's outdoor swimming pool, plus walk to downtown attractions like the Children's Museum of Atlanta and the World of Coca-Cola.

19. Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort - Stone Mountain 

Starting at $40 for parents and $15 for kids, families can spend the day at Stone Mountain Park and enjoy the on-site resort's pool and other amentities. Poolside food and drinks available for purchase at Rocks Grille.

20. Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta - Buckhead

Enjoy the outdoor, heated saline pool at this luxurious Buckhead hotel. Rates start at $45 per adult and $20 per child for day passes.
