The Academy Museum hosts a drop-in workshop Alebrijes workshop inspired by Coco and Día de Muertos.  

Alebrijes are brightly colored creatures with animal features from Mexican folklore. They are a part of the November holiday Día de Muertos and are featured in the Disney animated film, Coco.

In November's free workshop, families can learn about the significance of alebrijes and create their own vibrant creature together.

Guests can join the activity anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level. 

A separate museum admission ticket is required to visit the galleries. Children 17 and under are free.
