4th of July 2023: Surf City Soul
- see all dates
The "largest 4th of July celebration west of the Mississippi" is back for its 119th year!
Huntington Beach's Independence Day celebrations include a massive five-day pier festival, a 5k run, a decorating contest, a parade, and fireworks. New this year, the festival staff added a cornhole tournament. The fireworks display lights up the sky on July 4th in the evening.
Tickets for pier seating or VIP seating go on sale mid-May, but all the fun is viewable from other vantage points on the beach for free.
A total of 1,300 rounds of fireworks are shot off the end of the Huntington Beach Pier starting at 9pm.
Other fun includes the Surf City 5k, the decorating contest, carnival rides, the cornhole tournament, and the parade.
