Best Pumpkin Patches Near Houston for Fall Fun

With temps finally under 100 degrees, it's time to gather up the kids and head out to one of the many pumpkin patches near Houston for one of our favorite fall activities.
We've rounded up the best pumpkin patches in Houston, which are often at Houston-area farms. These area u-pick pumpkin spots really get all decked out for fall with corn mazes, evening pumpkin strolls, hayrides, petting zoos, and, of course, plenty of pumpkin patch photo-ops.

1. Blessington Farms Pumpkin Patch — Simonton
Looking for great pumpkin patch photo opportunities, pumpkins galore, and fall activities that will keep the kids (and adults!) entertained all day long? Look no further than Blessington Farms.
Why we love it: There's no shortage of activities at the farm, which range from an enormous pumpkin patch to hayrides, a walk-thru aviary, Gem Mining experience, Fossil Dig, and more.
2. Old MacDonald's Farm Pumpkin Patch — Humble
In addition to all the regular activities you can enjoy year-round at Old MacDonald's Farm — train rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, and playgrounds — fall brings an added bonus that makes taking a trip out to Humble extra special: the farm's pumpkin patch! Make sure to bring your camera; there are plenty of fall-inspired photo opportunities. This Houston-area pumpkin patch is filled with small and medium sized pumpkins. 3. Froberg's Farm Fall Festival — Alvin
Take pictures with pumpkins in the classic patch filled with a variety of photo setups, including the old truck, tractors, a little pumpkin house, and even some dinosaurs! Then, head out to the field to pick flowers before making your way back to the Country Store for some tasty bites. As if that wasn't enough fun for one day, maybe give the corn maze a try, too! You’ll also find Plastic Duck Races, the giant Jumping Pillow, the Bee Coaster barrel ride, the Berry Fun Land playground, and more kid-friendly activities. Prices for activities and pumpkins vary.

4. P-6 Farms Fall Festival — Montgomery
The annual Fall Festival at P-6 promises Texas-sized fall family fun with what is touted as one of the best pumpkin patches in the Houston area, a corn maze that will leave you scratching your head as you navigate through it, and lots of other kid-friendly activities. Choose a pumpkin or head to the flower patch to pick your own lovely blooms.
Why we love it: P-6 Farms offers a unique pumpkin patch experience, thanks to its assortment of vintage rides and exciting pig races.
5. Dewberry Farm Fall Festival — Brookshire
The kids are sure to find the perfect pumpkin for decorating (as well as some inspiration) at Dewberry Farm, where they can choose from tons of pumpkins. A trek over to the patch will kick off the pumpkin patch fun, but be sure to explore the 8-acre Peanuts-themed corn maze and take the Pumpkin Stroll along a trail of hundreds of carved, glowing Jack-o-lanterns during the spooky evening event, BOOriffic Nights!
Why we love it: A craft area is available for kiddos to paint their pumpkins on-site.

6. Old Time Christmas Tree Farm Pumpkin Patch — Spring
Weekends in October transform Old Time Christmas Tree Farm into a pumpkin patch ripe for the picking. Fall at the farm doesn't just include pumpkins, though; you'll also want to take a ride on the train and hayride, visit the petting zoo, play on the inflatables, run through the corn maze, nosh on carnival-style foods, and take advantage of all the other fall-inspired family fun.
Why we love it: The Christmas tree backdrop adds a whole new level of magic to this family-focused event.
7. 7 Acre Wood Pumpkin Patch — Conroe
Day trip from Houston to the 7 Acre Wood farm and family fun park this October for a pumpkin patch at the farm! Grab your pumpkins and stay to enjoy the petting zoo, mini golf, larger-than-life games, fall photo ops, and so much more.
Why we love it: On weekends, 7 Acre Wood offers pony rides, barrel train rides, and hay rides.
8. St. Andrew's Episcopal Church — Pearland
St. Andrew's Pumpkin Patch is consistently named one of the top pumpkin patches near Houston. Thousands of pumpkins are ripe for the picking, there are a ton of great photo-ops, and there are fall activities galore for the family to enjoy.
Why we love it: St. Andrew's hosts special Storytime in the Patch events for little ones.
9. Nature Discovery Center Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival — Bellaire
Pick out a pumpkin and enjoy fun festival games, crafts, scrumptious foods from food trucks, family photo ops, horse-drawn wagon rides, and more! Although there is no admission into the grounds, there are charges for each separate activity. Enjoy the season under the canopy of trees and foliage at the Nature Discovery Center!
Why we love it: Curbside pumpkin pick-up makes it easy to get your pumpkins home after a day of fun.

10. Oil Ranch — Hockley
Pumpkins for picking are just the whipped cream on the pie when you visit Oil Ranch during October and November. This 50-plus-acre ranch features hayrides, putt putt golf, a fishing lake, train rides, a petting zoo, and beyond. Embrace the Texas fall out in the fresh air at Oil Ranch.
Why we love it: Oil Ranch is a working farm that lets youngsters get hands-on experience with activities like milking a cow.
11. Houston Pumpkin Festival at Discovery Green — Downtown
The heart of downtown Houston transforms into an autumnal escape for Discovery Green's Houston Pumpkin Festival. In addition to picking from over 45 varieties of pumpkins, kids can enjoy fair activities like balloon artists, face painting, and the world's largest bouncy pumpkin. Advanced reservations are recommended.
Why we love it: Wow-worthy photo-ops include Cinderella's Carriage, a pumpkin church, a pink tree, and a giant corn pit.
12. Asbury United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch — Pasadena
Pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, from tiny pumpkins that will fit in the palm of your hand to massive gourds, are featured for purchase at Asbury United Methodist Church in Pasadena. Asbury sells pumpkins to raise funds for community projects in the city and around the world. Photo areas are scattered throughout the patch where you can take photos with fall decor like scarecrows and hay bales.
Why we love it: Families are invited to participate in special activities for Family Fun Nights on October Fridays.
