UVSA Tet Festival
- see all dates
Each year, those of Vietnamese descent celebrate the coming lunar year with Tet Nguyen Dan. It celebrates the Lunar New Year, the beginning of spring, and a way to start fresh.
In 2023, the UVSA Tết Festival theme is Long Vân Hội Ngộ, which depicts the story and idea of the dragon and the clouds meeting. Their meeting symbolizes luck, prosperity, and our biggest hopes and dreams coming to life.
The three-day festival at OC Fair & Event Center attracts over 50,000 guests and is the largest Tet Festival in the entire world. Highlights include a Vietnamese cultural village, live entertainment, the Miss Vietnam of Southern California pageant, festive games and rides, and a variety of ethnically diverse foods.
The Ancestral Altar Procession is on Saturday at 2pm. This traditional ceremony features a cultural procession with carrying the altar of King Hung, the founder of the Vietnamese people and nation.
On Sunday at 12:15pm, guests can attend the Spring Wedding. Complete with an actual bride and groom, the wedding has traditional tea offerings to elders, lion dances, a wedding procession, and an actual roasted pig.
Event Hours:
