Sunday Studio at MOCA: Devon Tsuno and MOCA Teens
Visitors can work with artist Devon Tsuno and MOCA Teens to create a new large-scale, collaborative artwork. Participants learn how teens helped preserve Japanese American cultural arts and crafts while incarcerated during World War II at the Topaz detention center in Utah.
Participants also discover how these traditions are embedded in Little Tokyo and the Los Angeles landscape.
MOCA's Sunday Studio is a free, quarterly event featuring active conversations about art on view and participatory art experiences. The program includes family-friendly tours of the museum, art-making explorations, music, food trucks, and Toddler Town, a space with activities designed for small hands.
Parking at the Walt Disney Concert Hall costs $9 with MOCA validation.
